Introducing Relative Insight Medical: Analyzing your health text data
The wait is over and Relative Insight Medical is finally here. Our pioneering solution was created specifically for pharmaceutical, healthcare, biotech and medical device companies and agencies to help them analyze and visualize their text data.
For the first time, the complex and industry-specific language will be categorized into topics, phrases and words that resonate with those working within the health industry.
Developing medical lexicon
Due to the extremely specialized vocabulary used in the healthcare industry, conventional topic analysis can often be inappropriate when analyzing text-based data. The language used in medicine is very different to the way most people speak on a daily basis.
For example, using a general AI model, words such as “administration” and “draw” would be categorized under “professionalism” and “art”. However, within the domain of healthcare, these words are related to giving out medicine and performing a procedure.
“Our new solution provides bespoke support to the healthcare space, which grapples with a challenging lexicon when it comes to text data,” explains Phil Greenwood, CTO of Relative Insight.
“Rather than repurposing a broader text analysis solution for the medical world, our data scientists have created a specialised healthcare text processing pipeline. Relative Insight Medical ensures that health and medical companies get the most out of their text analysis, without a need for a workaround solution nor interpretation.”
Comparing qualitative data in Relative Insight Medical identifies the medical language in addition to revealing differences and similarities in each data set. This enables users to glean unique insights in a fast and scalable way, without the need to rely on workaround solutions or interpretations.
Now, available only in Relative Insight Medical, there are 33 unique medical tags with a small Rod of Asclepius symbol (⚕) to make them easily recognizable. The topics include administration, medical abbreviations, disease, syndromes, symptoms, alternative medicine, surgery and many more.
Exploring healthcare
First-of-its-kind in the world of text analytics, Relative Insight Medical allows you to explore health topics such as treatment, dietary supplements, and exercise. These terms are recognized and classified accordingly to provide meaningful and relevant context for health and pharmaceutical companies and agencies.
To demonstrate this in action, we investigated how Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes are discussed on medical forums. When talking about Type 2, people are more likely to talk about lifestyle. For example, nutrition is discussed 2.5x more frequently and food appears 2.2x more.
Type 1 diabetes is a genetic condition that shows up early in life, and Type 2 usually develops over time and is lifestyle related. So, it is not surprising that these insights surfaced. However, when investigated through a prism of conventional semantics, the topics would not be categorized as medical, creating an additional barrier to text analysis.
Relative Insight Medical removes those obstacles and improves the overall efficiency of the analysis for the pharmaceutical, healthcare or biotech industries.
Becoming healthcare focused
We unveiled Relative Insight Medical at the IIEX Health 2022 in Philadelphia, to demonstrate its potential to healthcare specialists looking to do more with their text data.
Our aim is to provide specialized support to industries with a challenging lexicon, to ensure they get the most out of their text analysis, without a need for a workaround solution.
