In order to do some competitor benchmarking and find out how three market leading brands interact with their consumers on social media, we ran some linguistic comparisons.
We picked ice-cream. We looked at the Twitter handles for Håågen Dasz, Ben & Jerry’s and Halo Top and compared the language used by each brand to see exactly how each differentiates themselves from one another – intentionally, or not.
We were able to pinpoint the differences in brand positioning, tone of voice and social media strategy which give us unique insights into the singular challenges and strengths of each brand’s comms.
